Renovation and addition to 32 units in 4 separate buildings
Client: Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing
Complete rehabilitation and addition to 33 units located in 4 post-WWII masonry buildings. Rehabilitation includes new kitchens, baths, windows, plumbing, HVAC, and sprinkler systems. Each addition to the buildings provides an extra bedroom and bathroom, creating 2 bedroom units for families. The project also includes an accessible unit and laundry. Fisher House received VHDA credits in the Non-Profit pool and Federal and State historic tax credits.
The primary design objective was to unify the original structure along with several previous phases with the new additions into a more cohesive whole. This was achieved by creating a new updated appearance using exterior and interior treatments and finishes, while respecting historical nature of the project.
